Arts Without Boundaries,( ein 36-472281) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit group that is dedicated to supporting, enhancing and encouraging student participation in the arts in Montana communities. The arts inspire creative thinking and problem solving skills and play a critical role in children’s academic and social development. Arts Without Boundaries provides meaningful artistic opportunities to students by bringing unique and enriching instructional experiences and performances directly to children in the schools.
AWB has initiated an ambitious plan to enhance artistic opportunities for students in the classroom and beyond. These initiatives include a guest artist program, after school individual and group instruction, and provisioning students with high quality music instruments.
In the future, these programs will be expanded to include other arts disciplines as funding and volunteers are identified. For example, Arts Without Boundaries hopes to initiate and fund a student-to-student mentoring program wherein high achievement students mentor younger grade students, setting an invaluable peer example.
Community Support is critical. According the National Art Education Center the arts help children develop literacy skills such as reading, writing, speaking and listening. The arts encourage creative thinking and problem solving skills and play a critical role in children’s academic and social development.
